Technical Project Manager - Engineering

Hybrid - Swindon or London

Salary - £55,000 to £65,000 + Bonus (depending on experience)

About us

PayTech has a number of large projects and programmes to undertake, delivering significant business change to PayTech and Edenred.

You will be responsible for managing the delivery of the engineering workstream within one or more of the projects.  Working with our product and programme colleagues, you will plan and co-ordinate the work required in engineering to deliver the business requirements within an agile environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Planning and managing project deliverables for engineering workstreams

  • Effective co-ordination of deliveries across multiple teams and releases (incremental)

  • Creation and maintenance of suitable progress and planning reporting within the project or programme

  • Features are successfully delivered to production

  • Work with team to identify and define deliverables and milestones

  • Creation and maintenance of delivery plans tracking time, effort, costs, risks & issues

  • Co-ordinate with teams on feature releases, managing dependencies across teams

  • Providing appropriate reporting to the project or programme as well as Engineering management and senior management

  • Ensuring a smooth path to production, ensuring engagement and transition to operations

Skills & Experience

  • Significant commercial experience of planning and managing technical (software/cloud/infrastructure/compliance) deliveries in an agile environment

  • Proven experience of providing appropriate status reporting particularly to senior management and “C-level”

  • Scaled agile practices, ideally SAFe, Less or Disciplined Agile. 

  • Experience of working in a DevOps environment beneficial

  • Understands the management of risks & issues

  • Results-focused – provides clear focus and drives deliveries through to completion

  • Decision maker – can weigh up complex options to reach the right decision

  • Influencer – can articulate and challenge ideas to get the best outcome for the business

  • Well organized – able to plan own work and track progress against a plan.

  • Strong communicator – able to articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical people alike
