About this role

Your team

The Global Product Solutions team oversees product development, product strategy and range management for pooled funds across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The team helps drive business strategy, innovation and commercialisation across Active, iShares and Private Markets. With more than 1,500 funds across 10 domiciles, the team aligns commercial priorities with distribution partners and advises on investment strategies, vehicle types and regulatory regimes to support strong client outcomes. The team’s work includes product development, market analysis, fund documentation and leadership of the Product Development Committee for new products and product changes.

Your role and impact

As a Product Developer, you will help deliver new investment products and manage lifecycle events for EMEA-domiciled mutual funds and exchange-traded funds. You will coordinate product initiatives across investments, distribution and corporate functions teams, helping translate market insights and client needs into well-governed product proposals. Through cross-functional and multi-jurisdictional projects, you will support the continued development of BlackRock’s regional product offering and contribute to an efficient and effective product development process.

Your responsibilities

In every role at BlackRock, you'll be expected to apply sound judgement and critical thinking to solve complex problems, adapt as the business evolves, and combine the curiosity to explore new approaches and technologies with the rigor to challenge the results. The scope of this role also includes the following responsibilities:

  • Lead new product development and lifecycle events for EMEA-domiciled mutual funds and exchange-traded funds.
  • Partner with internal investment, distribution and corporate functions teams to advance product agendas and strategic priorities.
  • Develop product proposals informed by market research, client needs and the competitive landscape.
  • Lead significant projects and platform initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Improve resource efficiency by identifying and addressing gaps or inefficiencies in the product development process.
  • Build and maintain a detailed understanding of BlackRock’s processes, operating environment, competitive landscape and investment products, while communicating the specific requirements of the funds to business partners.

Your experience

  • Relevant experience in investment management, specifically in a product development-related role.
  • Relevant experience of product development processes, including internal governance, board governance and engagement with local regulators.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting to senior internal and external audiences is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of asset management products and liquid asset classes.
  • Knowledge of relevant European regulations, including the Sustainable Financial Disclosure Regulation and Consumer Duty, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to establish effective relationships and collaborate with colleagues across BlackRock globally.
