About this role

Your team

Global Product Solutions (GPS) was formed in 2024, bringing product teams together as a single platform to better identify and pursue growth opportunities spanning asset classes and product structures, from active exchange-traded funds and public-private products to traditional and decentralized finance solutions. GPS partners with client and investment teams to accelerate product innovation, commercialise BlackRock’s product platform at scale and oversee and drive the growth of iShares.

Within GPS, the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Business Strategy team works with senior leadership to define the strategic direction of the business and tackle some of its most important and complex commercial questions.

Your role and impact

We are looking for highly strategic, analytical and entrepreneurial Vice President and Associate to join the GPS EMEA Business Strategy team in London as Product Platform Growth Lead.

In this role, you will help shape where and how BlackRock invests to drive the next phase of growth for the EMEA product platform.

This is a strategy-led role with significant ownership. You will take complex and often ambiguous business questions, structure the problem, develop fact-based insights and perspectives, and translate these into clear strategic choices and executable recommendations. You will work directly with GPS EMEA leadership and partner across Product, Investments, Distribution, Corporate Functions and the broader organisation to turn strategy into clear product priorities and commercial outcomes.

The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape decisions at the heart of a large and fast-evolving global investment business.

Your responsibilities

Shape strategy and drive outcomes

  • Own and drive high-priority strategic initiatives across the product platform from problem definition and hypothesis development through analysis, recommendation and execution.

  • Structure complex and ambiguous business questions into clear analytical frameworks and develop fact-based perspectives on where BlackRock should compete, differentiate and invest for growth.

  • Translate complex analysis into clear strategic choices, compelling executive-level narratives and actionable recommendations for senior leadership.

Lead teams and projects

  • Partner across Product, Investments, Distribution and the broader organisation to build alignment and translate strategic priorities into product and commercial outcomes.

  • Mobilise and influence cross-functional teams, often without formal authority, to deliver against shared objectives.

  • Independently lead multiple workstreams and projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritising effectively and delivering high-quality work at pace.

  • Lead and develop junior team members, providing direction, coaching and feedback and contributing to a high-performing strategy team.

Generate market and competitive insights

  • Identify and evaluate new product, market and commercial opportunities, combining quantitative analysis with client, competitor and market insights.

  • Navigate complex quantitative and qualitative datasets to identify insights, opportunities and emerging risks.

  • Develop perspectives on structural trends shaping the asset management industry, client needs and the competitive landscape.

  • Build and maintain market and competitive intelligence that informs strategic decision-making across GPS EMEA.

Your experience

  • Significant experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, product strategy, or a similarly rigorous strategic problem-solving environment; experience at a top-tier global management consulting firm is strongly preferred.

  •  A strong strategy toolkit and demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems, develop hypotheses, conduct rigorous analysis and translate insights into clear strategic recommendations.

  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills, with the ability to move comfortably between quantitative analysis and broader strategic judgement.

  •  A track record of independently leading complex strategy projects and influencing senior stakeholders.

  • The ability to operate effectively in a highly collaborative, matrixed organisation and influence stakeholders without formal authority.

  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to distil complex topics into clear, compelling narratives and recommendations.

  • Strong commercial judgement and a track record of moving beyond analysis to drive implementation and measurable business outcomes.

  • Experience in asset management or financial services is preferred; a strong candidate with adjacent experience and demonstrated interest in the industry will also be considered.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in markets, investing, product innovation and the evolution of the asset management industry.

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; a Master of Business Administration or other advanced degree is desirable but not required.
