Job Description

As a Test Engineer for Rockwell Automation, you will be involved with activities related to design and implementation of test automation.

You will be involved in design of automation tests working with our Product Engineers part of team developing a rigorous verification and validation program to enhance the robustness of Rockwell Automation products.

You have experience with testing and identifying creative solutions to complex problems. We are looking for someone with knowledge regarding multiple software architectures, who can apply their knowledge in control systems applications.

You will report to the local Manager, Customer Success and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Completing tests and maintaining test environments.
  • Monitoring automated tests results and reporting software defects to agreed team members.
  • Making sure that team's automated and manual tests have appropriate coverage and are developed to verify quality of tested products.
  • Supporting team in functional and system requirements analysis required to design and verify added and changed functionality.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues
  • Learn about network communication protocols used in Industrial Automation
  • Guiding less experienced team members, supporting them in execution of test tasks.
  • Monitoring testing process adopted by the team and report any inefficiencies to agreed team members.
  • Facilitating experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners both within local team and with remote team members.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Master`s or bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience on tester position.
  • Experience using several programming and scripting languages, like Python.
  • Knowledge of software process development
  • Understanding of computer networks
  • Basic knowledge of industrial control systems.
  • Good English skills (written and verbal).

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Knowledge of Python 3 and test frameworks.
  • Familiar with Agile development processes
  • Knowledge of network communication (ISO / OSI model, BSD socket API). Knowledge of some network protocols in the cross section of the ISO / OSI model: Ethernet, TCP, UDP, TLS, and DTLS.
  • Programming of PLCs (Programmable logic controller).
