Job Description

Wood Mackenzie is looking for a Global Digital Marketing Director for a 14 month fixed term contract to lead the delivery and development of our digital marketing strategy aligned to key business goals across audience growth, engagement and lead generation. This is a maternity cover role offering the opportunity for a creative, innovative digital strategist to lead a team and collaborate across the global organisation.

Role Purpose 

The role involves leading the small global digital team to deliver against our functional and business objectives. The position will also require vendor management with our paid media and SEO agencies to ensure effective and collaborative delivery of projects and campaigns in line with strategic priorities.

You will be responsible for working closely with the broader marketing organisation, including our programme, product, events, corporate and performance marketing teams to devise and deliver on effective digital strategies utilising the company’s marketing technology stack and channels. This position will report to the Global Head of Marketing.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities of the Role

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate full-funnel digital marketing strategies in particular across paid media and SEO
  • Working in close collaboration with broader sub-functional leads across marketing to identify external and internal challenges and align on priorities and results-driven projects to achieve our collective goals
  • Overseeing the planning and execution of digital campaigns
  • Supporting the digital team’s professional and personal development aligned to our overarching objectives
  • Regularly utilise our marketing performance reports to make informed decisions around resource, budget, project and channel priorities
  • Manage department budgets effectively across paid media spend and platform costs
  • Monitoring competitors to identify strategic opportunities across digital channels
  • Monitor latest digital marketing developments including impact of AI to ensure maximising opportunities for WoodMac
  • Own and manage our vendor relationships across digital agencies and platforms
  • Support 2026 strategy and budget planning

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced B2B digital marketing strategist with broader knowledge of B2B marketing principles and MarTech supporting full-funnel marketing from awareness through to lead generation. Ability to collaborate across teams to develop the big picture will be key in identifying strategic and tactical opportunities to support business growth. It will be beneficial but not essential if you have some knowledge of the energy & commodity markets.

You will have:

  • Proven leadership experience in global business environments
  • Successful track record in B2B digital marketing strategy implementation
  • Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision-making abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, adept at stakeholder management and engaging/influencing teams
  • Ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences
  • Creative problem-solving and innovation-driving capabilities
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Google Analytics, LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, SEO tools, etc)
  • Experience in planning and executing integrated digital campaigns
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for quickly grasping and simplifying complex concepts while maintaining key messages
