Role Summary

EQ is seeking an Implementation Analyst to join a brand new team responsible for onboarding Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) Schemes. Significant experience in the pensions industry and a strong technical pensions background is required, knowledge of Bulk Purchase Annuities would be advantageous It is an exciting time and opportunity to be a part of this Implementation team that is not only responsible for the core configuration of the system, but also working closely with the ongoing development of the Administrator system, including contributing to development plans, reviewing enhancement requests, Administrator rollouts and producing prototypes for new functionality.

For the provision of all the other aspects of members' pensions, our administration function is key. Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

  • Working across all aspects of the Administrator application
  • Loading and importing bulk annuity data using Equiniti tools (e.g. DataSure, EQ Porter etc.)
  • Analyse and assess pension data extracts against standards and ensuring final extracts are in line with the relevant benefit specification(s)
  • Validation of data extracts through standard checks, control totals and production of agreed test scenario outputs
  • Identification of any data issues and raise these with the client through query log
  • Highlighting areas of potential development and efficiencies to be gained
  • Configuring scheme, category, and element parameters within the Administrator application
  • Maintaining integrated spreadsheets
  • Ratifying factor usage and maintaining factor feeds
  • Validating interface requirements
  • Configuring member communications to reflect bespoke specific scheme requirements
  • Collaboration with clients (both internal and external) to understand their requirements for the Administrator application
  • Analysing, understanding , documenting and estimating client requirements
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, Trustee administrators and client stakeholders
  • Improving the implementation practices and procedures
  • Working closely with the development team to refine and improve the system

Skills, Capabilities and Attributes

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:

Requirements Definition

  • Undertake analysis on implementation projects and/or enhancements for existing clients
  • Analyse changes and enhancements to client’s pensions systems
  • Liaise with clients to define and understand requirements and estimate work

Planning and control

  • Accurately estimate and plan deliverables. To monitor progress against plan enabling projects to be delivered on time and within budget, providing progress reporting as required
  • Adhere to project estimating, planning, management and reporting procedures

Build/ Test (Calculations, Data Migration and Processes)

  • Application of data cleansing and data migration activities when required
  • Configuration and testing of automation processes inclusive of pension calculations, workflow build, letters and output, reports, employer self-service, member self-service
  • Align to defined policies and procedures, identifying, where appropriate, any deficiencies in, or opportunities for improvement to, established standards and procedures
  • Ensure successful implementation of defined deliverables within the scope of each task assigned

Documentation

  • Produce user and pension systems documentation as required and agreed. Covering but not limited to scope documents, specification, and user guides.

Support

  • Provide support to the administration teams and clients. Supporting the testing and rollout of the implementation.

Legislation

  • Interpret and implement legislative changes making use of Regulatory & Pensions Support team advice where necessary

Commercial Awareness

  • Work within the correct boundaries of scope, incident management and change control
  • Design and provide a solution which is fit for purpose and in line with budgetary constraints

Qualification and Experience

  • Educated to degree standard preferred but not essential
  • Experience of using Pension Configuration Tools and MS SQL
  • Relevant qualifications in the Pensions & Actuarial Industry desirable (e.g. Pensions Management Institute Certification)
  • Significant experience in the pensions industry and a strong technical pensions background, particularly in the area of Bulk Purchase Annuities, would be highly desirable
  • Demonstrable software development capabilities; • Demonstrate commercial awareness & operational efficiencies/income generation in current role.
