Java Software Engineer
BlackRock is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Tech & Ops Platform Enablement Development team. This role contributes to the delivery of high-quality technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency at global scale. The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders to design and implement workflows that streamline processes across functions.

Responsibilities
Design and develop business-process-centric technology solutions that enable global operational scale.
Partner with business stakeholders to define requirements and implement efficient workflows across functions and domains.
Translate business objectives and constraints into clear technical designs and implementable solutions.
Address complex problems in a dynamic environment, with emphasis on process optimisation, data, and technology.
Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships, demonstrating a collaborative approach and strong client-service orientation.
Requirements
3+ years of hands-on experience developing complex enterprise software systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from an accredited institution, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with software development lifecycle practices, including agile delivery and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
Proficiency in object-oriented programming and practical experience applying design patterns in one or more languages (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python).
Demonstrated experience designing and working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, Sybase).

Our hybrid work model
BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
