Department OverviewInnovation is the oxygen of our company, and in 2023, we invested more than US$850 million in research and development (R&D). We’re now opening a new Research & Development Centre in Cork, Ireland focused on designing software for the company’s comprehensive land mobile radio (LMR) portfolio, with plans for expansion across other technologies in the future.

Job Description
We're looking for software engineers who are passionate about embedded systems and keen to apply their expertise to our dynamic team. Your contributions will be instrumental in advancing our portfolio of communication devices, ensuring we provide our customers with innovative and reliable products.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Work in an Agile/Scrum team to design, implement, and test new two-way radio products and features

Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within quality assurance, time and cost constraints

Teamwork in a multi-site, world-wide development environment
-
Use secure programming practices to create mission critical and reusable software
-
Participation in peer reviews
-
Develop intellectual property
-
Finding, tracking, and repairing RTOS device software defects
-
Create and execute unit, integration, system, load, and acceptance tests

Contribute to the improvement of existing mature software development processes
Basic Requirements
Preferred Skills:
-
Good understanding of C++ OR equivalent High Level Programming Language

Experience in real-time embedded software

Experience in real-time embedded software

Strong communication and problem solving skills

Experience using version control; Git is a plus

Experience with Linux is a plus
-
Experience in communications protocols (USB, TCP/IP, BT, LTE, WiFi) is a plus

Experience in Test Driven Development is a plus

Experience with the use of test equipment such as logic analyzers, serial data analyzers, oscilloscopes etc.) is a plus

Experience with embedded development/debug tools (such as emulators/JTAG, etc.) is a plus
Basic requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required; major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
