About this role
This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionising private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.
We are seeking a Legal Associate to join BlackRock’s Legal Insights team, supporting our FAIR (Fee and Expense Analysis & Reporting) service for private market clients.
This role is ideal for a lawyer or legal professional with strong analytical skills who is interested in applying legal expertise in a data‑driven, operational environment.
What you’ll do
- Review private fund documentation (LPAs, side letters, MFNs)
- Analyse legal fee and terms data using standard templates
- Identify non‑standard drafting, missing documents, and interpretation issues
- Support FAIR validation and client reporting through accurate legal analysis
- Work closely with senior lawyers and operations teams to deliver high‑quality outputs
What we’re looking for
- Legal qualification or equivalent legal experience
- Experience reviewing complex legal agreements
- Strong attention to detail and structured analytical skills
- Interest in private markets and fund documentation
- Comfortable working in a process‑driven, high‑volume environment

Our hybrid work model
