All about the role:

For our Global organization, we are looking for an open – minded, driven and proactive OT Infrastructure Engineer passionate about all aspects of connectivity in manufacturing. In this role you will be part of the global IIoT Connectivity team, closely cooperating with key stakeholders in our manufacturing sites and bringing all the benefits of standardized OT infrastructure to our factories. You will be reporting operationally to the OT CoE Lead.

What you’ll do:

  • Implement globally defined OT infrastructure initiatives and insure compliancy regarding data acquisition, remote access, IIoT, cybersecurity, …

  • Organize and manage the lifecycle (updates/upgrades/certificates/testing/licensing) of the OT infrastructure with the local stakeholders.

  • Upskill and support global and local teams on the implemented OT infrastructure.

  • Responsible for testing updates/upgrades/new features on dedicated test infrastructure.

  • Define together, with the regional and local teams, standardizing best practices concerning all aspects of the OT infrastructure (configuration, troubleshooting, user management).

  • Contribute and collaborate on the future roadmap for OT infrastructure with a focus on improving cybersecurity.

  • Proactively work together with our partners on the roadmap of the implemented solutions and communicate with the larger organization.

  • Proactively monitoring performance, user management and security to maintain alignment with global standards and attain desired service level.

  • Create and maintain global communities for sharing documentation, training sessions, common mistakes, quick tips, new features, …

  • Finding synergies between the existing IT infrastructure and the OT space

  • Support the manufacturing sites on OT infrastructure challenges

Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Engineering or Computer Sciences or equivalent by experience.

  • 5 years’ experience in IT/OT infrastructure

  • Affinity for deep dive network and protocol analysis to solve complex communication issues (i.e.: Wireshark).

  • Enhanced knowledge on the TCP/IP stack and network communication

  • Understanding of (Azure) Active Directory

  • Understanding of virtualization and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Understanding the principles of common networking environments (Firewall, Switch, Subnetting, …)

  • Strong interest in cybersecurity

  • Strong work ethic and transparency. Positive, proactive attitude with a Strong Continuous Improvement mindset.

  • Self-starter who can work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Great communicator, both verbal and written.

  • Fluent in English

  • Up to 25% international and domestic travel is required.

The following demonstrated experience is a plus:

  • Enhanced knowledge of IIoT relevant communication protocols: OPC UA (Protocol & Data Modelling), MQTT, and HTTP / REST

  • Knowledge on automation equipment (PLC, Switches, …) from Siemens, Allen Bradley and associated network technologies (Profinet, Ethernet/IP)

  • Knowledge on Thingworx Kepserver

  • Knowledge on Siemens solutions like Sinema RC / Sinec NMS / UMC
