We have an exciting opportunity to join our People Culture and Change Team on a 12-month fixed term basis as a People Project Manager. This is a key role that will work in partnership with the People Leadership Team to deliver the People Strategy through People Project Plans. Flex@QBE means that we only ask people to come into the office for the moments that matter. Our preference is to have someone based within commutable distance of Leeds for this role but may be open to conversations with candidates based in London.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead, or directly support, people programmes and projects [including Transformations] in order to facilitate their successful initiation, delivery and implementation and co-ordinate reporting and analysis through monitoring progress, identifying and highlighting risks and recommending appropriate action.

Your New Role  

  • Manage People related projects (i.e. Org Design (OD) Transformations, Benefits reviews, Payroll changes) as per the agreed prioritisation with the Head of People Portfolio, to delivery within agreed timeframes, scope and budget with effective stakeholder engagement throughout 

  • Develop and gain agreement to project scoping, project plans and budgets, ensuring interdependencies with other programmes and projects are monitored throughout the whole lifecycle 

  • Contribute to the review and refinement of process, procedures, tools and systems to continuously improve the efficiency of projects and other related activities 

  • Review and maintain a repository of the necessary programme and project data, including plans, milestones, status reports, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and outcomes, and financial data 

  • Oversee People project related budgets and costs in collaboration with the Head of People Portfolio to effectively manage the People cost base 

  • Collaborate and build relationships with the wider People team (locally and globally) and project stakeholders across QBE and external where applicable to fully understand/agree project goals, benefits, measures, drivers and resources 

  • Facilitate a robust governance process across the programme of People projects through effective risk/issue/exception reporting 

  • Actively coach and develop more junior/less experienced team members. Act as a point of reference to guide and advise others to ensure the sharing of knowledge and best practice 

About You: 

  • Experienced Project/Programme Manager (Org Design / Transformations /HR background preferred) with a good understanding of project management methodology, best practice tools, templates and techniques (supported by theory based learning/study) 

  • Experience of supporting business/ people led change  

  • PMO experience including managing the key controls of a project (risks, issues, dependencies, plans, finances, reporting etc)  

  • Have the ability to build strong stakeholder and team relationships in a line and matrix environment and be able to challenge constructively on requirements or assumptions whilst maintaining positive and professional relationships 

  • Proven experience of working in a line and matrix environment 

  • Experience using MS Project, JIRA, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook 

  • HR background desirable – good working knowledge and understanding of HR best practice, strategies/initiatives
