About the role

The Performance Analytics role within abrdn is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong analytical skills and experience in asset management to support key business areas. As part of the Operations team, this position will play a central role in the investment performance analysis across a range of funds, providing valuable insights to both internal and external stakeholders.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to develop their career in performance analytics within the asset management sector. You’ll gain exposure to various parts of the business, interact with senior stakeholders, and contribute directly to the performance analysis of abrdn’s diverse range of funds.

This position focuses on the timely and accurate delivery of performance-related reports and analysis using systems such as FactSet, MorningStar, and Lipper. You’ll support portfolio managers, investment teams, and other business functions by producing high-quality attribution analysis, tracking performance metrics, and responding to consultant and RFP queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performance Reporting: Maintain and produce accurate performance reports using FactSet, MorningStar, and other systems.

  • Attribution Analysis: Support the provision of attribution analysis to provide deeper insights into fund performance.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with investment desks and other areas of the business.

  • Product Understanding: Dedicate time to understanding the business’s range of investment products, their performance, and how best to report on them.

  • Data Provision: Provide key performance data for consultants, RFPs, and external inquiries.

  • Proactive Analysis: Use programming languages to conduct in-depth analysis of performance data and automate repetitive tasks where possible.

About the candidate

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex performance data and findings to stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyse performance data, identify issues, and suggest improvements.

  • Focus on improving processes and enhancing overall performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects with multiple deadlines.

  • Exposure to multiple asset classes and investment products advantageous

  • Familiarity with performance analysis systems like FactSet, MorningStar, Lipper, etc.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and align personal goals with team objectives.
