About Skyscanner

Everyone loves travelling, but planning is not without its challenges ✈️. That's why we've spent 20 years building tools that turn travel-planning chaos into a breeze. Today, around 100 million travellers count on us every month to skip the whole “47 browser tabs open” phase and find flights, cars, and hotels quickly and easily 💻.

Joining Skyscanner means becoming part of a global brand that's striving to become the planet's go-to travel hack accessible for all 🌍.

Our vision? To be the world's number one travel ally. (Ambitious? 💪 Yes, but, hey, that's what got us here.)

About the role

We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager – AI Platform to build and scale the internal developer platform that enables teams to ship AI-powered products faster. Your primary responsibility will be to improve how engineers build, test, and deploy products — by creating platform capabilities, tooling, and workflows that significantly increase developer velocity and reduce friction.

This is a hands-on, platform-focused role for a PM who loves thinking in systems, translating cutting-edge AI capabilities into smooth, secure, and joyful experiences for engineers, data scientists, and PMs alike. You’ll define the backbone of our AI ecosystem — ensuring our teams can safely build, test, and ship smarter, faster, and better.

You can be based in Barcelona, Edinburgh or London, where we adopt a hybrid working policy of working in the office twice a week.

What you’ll be doing

  • Championing Developer Experience: Design platform capabilities that make experimentation, evaluation, and deployment of GenAI features frictionless — boosting productivity through measurable outcomes like DORA and Core4 metrics.
  • Driving AI Platform Strategy: Define the roadmap for Skyscanner’s GenAI platform, spanning infrastructure and tooling, developer productivity, and observability.
  • Leading with Security and Governance: Partner with security, compliance, and data governance teams to ensure responsible AI usage, privacy, and policy adherence across our stack.
  • Powering AI-Ready Knowledge: Help build and scale Skyscanner’s knowledge graph, retrieval systems, and evaluation frameworks for both internal and traveller-facing AI use cases.
  • Enabling Measurable Impact: Define and track metrics for platform reliability, usability, and developer delight, ensuring innovation scales responsibly.
  • Collaborating Across Disciplines: Work hand-in-hand with ML engineers, data scientists, and PMs to turn platform magic into traveller impact.

About you

  • Deeply Technical PM: You understand the nuts and bolts of developer experience, and knows how to walk the walk with engineering partners
  • Platform Thinker: You’re at home in developer-facing environments and have shipped products or tools that improved engineering velocity, or workflow quality.
  • ModelOps Fluent: You know what it takes to operationalise AI — including evaluation frameworks, reproducibility, model registries, and the practical realities of scaling.
  • Metrics-Driven: You’re obsessed with quantifying impact — familiar with DORA, Core4, and productivity metrics that help measure and improve developer experience.
  • Collaborative Influencer: You thrive on ambiguity, drive clarity through collaboration, and influence through trust and expertise (not org charts).
  • Curious Experimenter: You keep one foot in the future — exploring new AI tools, frameworks, and practices, always looking for the next edge.

What it’s like here

Sound like your kind of adventure? 🚀 Apply now and help us shape the future of travel.

We're committed to ensuring our application and recruitment processes are inclusive and accessible to everyone. If you require any reasonable adjustments or accommodations for interviews, and/or wish to apply under the Disability Confident scheme, please let your recruiter know. If you’d like more information on any of our policies, such as hybrid working or Parental Leave policies (typically we pay a minimum of 24 weeks birth parent/maternity leave globally), our recruitment team can provide more information on these.
