About the role / the team:

We are growing our International Issuing Hub Project Management team and are looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Lead Release Manager who would be required to work across the programme and transition into BAU. The Lead Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing software releases across multiple environments and clients, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with organisational standards. This role acts as the central point of contact for all release-related activities, bridging development, testing, third parties, and operations teams.

What you will be doing:

Release Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain release calendars and timelines.

  • Coordinate with delivery managers, project teams, third parties, and stakeholders to align release scope and priorities.

Deployment & Change Management

  • Oversee deployments across SIT, UAT, and production environments.

  • Ensure CAB approvals for production changes and manage risk/security compliance.

  • Prepare and manage change tickets for all releases.

Defect & Incident Management

  • Monitor and triage defects during UAT and release phases.

  • Implement fixed mod processes for urgent fixes and ensure proper documentation.

Governance & Documentation

  • Maintain Release Tracking Matrix (RTM) and update CR project plans.

  • Conduct internal gate reviews (Gate 1, 2, 3) and ensure sign-offs.

  • Prepare Service Readiness documentation and knowledge transfer plans.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary liaison for release-related queries.

  • Escalate risks and issues to programme managers and directors.

  • Provide regular status updates and reporting to leadership.

What you will bring:

  • Strong understanding of release cycles, change management, and risk mitigation.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Power BI, and scheduling systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Experience in release management or similar roles within software delivery environments.

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and governance frameworks is desirable.

  • Works closely with: Development Teams, QA Teams, Operations, Third party vendors, and CAB
