Are you ready to lead a team of talented engineers and shape the future of the water industry? 

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Project Manager in our rapidly growing Edinburgh office – whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model. At AECOM, we’re at the forefront of innovation, delivering an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients. These include client such as Scottish Water, Wessex Water, Northern Lighthouse Board, local authorities and energy sector clients.

You’ll work closely with an immediate team of 50 professionals, covering flood risk management, reservoirs, wastewater network and clean water supply. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the overall commercial management of projects and frameworks and be a key part of our wider delivery team. 

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Proactively build and maintain strong working relationships with the team in Edinburgh.
  • Collaborate with senior project managers and engineers to monitor project expenditures and forecast financial needs. 
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with resource availability.
  • Assist in procurement processes, tenders, managing project budgets, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Track project performance, identifying potential cost overruns or resource shortages.
  • Maintain and manage documentation related to project financials & contracts.
  • Support risk assessment efforts, helping to mitigate financial and resourcing challenges.
  • Use project management software and financial tools to maintain accurate records and reports.

Qualifications

Ready to push the limits of what’s possible? 

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • Experience in project coordination, financial management, or resource planning.
  • Analytical skills with attention to budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g. MS Project) and financial tools (e.g. Excel)
  • Experience in the use of Oracle, Salesforce and Workday systems would be beneficial.
