Job Description

  

Job Outline:

The successful candidate will provide support and direction in the control of processes and quality management, in accordance with both the departmental operating procedures and company Quality Manual.

Key Responsibilities:

The main duties will include:

  • Ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with company operating procedures.
  • Providing guidance in the development of procedures to accommodate a changing environment.
  • Supporting Operations in achieving an environment of continuous improvement through identifying best practice and championing changes working closely with Process Engineers.
  • Leading Quality Root Cause and Corrective actions through Quality methods such as 8D, A3
  • Providing a supporting role for the completion of Fast responses using Fishbone, 3 legged 5 Why.
  • Managing department MRB process and reporting of key issues, late MRB tickets
  • Management of the Nonconformities related to the responsible area and providing support and guidance to employees on effective corrective actions
  • Producing Right First Time data. Publishing results and utilising them to direct efforts/focus.
  • Liaising with all areas of the business, at all levels, together with suppliers and customers in resolving product quality related issues
  • Conducting layered process audits and where applicable AS9100D internal audits in order to demonstrate compliance with procedures, processes and other requirements
  • Attending the various business/product reviews to ensure the business is addressing all aspects of the requirement to the satisfaction of the customer
  • Building effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Verification processes to AS9102 (FAI) AS9145 (PPAP) or similar
  • Risk mitigation and analysis (FMEA – PFMEA/DFMEA)

Personal Specification:

It is essential that all candidates have the following:

  •     A high standard of formal education (preferably to HNC level or equivalent)
  •     Knowledge of AS9100 quality requirements
  •     A time served background in an engineering discipline
  •     An understanding of metrology (optical/mechanical), and problem solving tools / techniques.
  • Fully competent in the use of PC’s (Microsoft Office Applications) as detailed technical report generation will be required.
  • Excellent communication skills, a methodical approach to working, and proven attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to achieve demanding objectives.

The following attributes are considered desirable, but not essential for the role:

  • An extensive knowledge of Qioptiq products and processes, together with an understanding of the Qioptiq Management System
  • Familiarity with auditing techniques, although training will be given if required.
