Meet the team behind this journey

DeepL is continuing to evolve its Salesforce platform to better support go-to-market operations. This role is a hands-on Salesforce Developer position, focused on building and maintaining reliable solutions across Salesforce and supporting integrations within the GTM systems landscape.

You will work primarily on Salesforce development and configuration, contributing to solutions that improve GTM efficiency and data quality. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers, the Salesforce Manager, and cross-functional stakeholders to implement well-defined designs and follow established platform standards.

What will you be doing at DeepL?

DeepL is an AI company. This is not a traditional Salesforce role.

We are building an AI-enabled, engineering-led Salesforce platform that underpins our global go-to-market operations. This role is for engineers who don’t just build solutions, but use AI to rethink how solutions are designed, delivered, and scaled.

You will be expected to:

  • Use tools like ChatGPT and Claude Code daily

  • Accelerate delivery, testing, documentation, and analysis using AI

  • Challenge existing approaches and introduce new, more efficient ways of working

If you are not actively using AI in your current role, this is not the right position.

The roleThis is a senior IC role with architectural influence.

You will:

  • Design first, build second

  • Own delivery end-to-end

  • Raise the engineering bar across the platform

  • Introduce scalable patterns across Salesforce and the wider GTM ecosystem

This is a high-accountability role. Output, clarity of thinking, and engineering quality matter more than activity.

Your responsibilities1. Solution Delivery
  • Build across Apex, LWC, Flows, and integrations

  • Make deliberate trade-offs (not defaulting to Flows or code blindly)

  • Deliver across Lead → Opportunity → Q2C → Renewals

2. AI-Enabled Engineering
  • Use AI tools to:

    • Accelerate development (code generation, refactoring)

    • Improve testing (test case generation, edge case identification)

    • Enhance documentation (auto-generating and maintaining design artefacts)

    • Analyse requirements and propose better solutions

  • Demonstrate how AI improves your output, not just that you use it

3. Design & Architecture
  • Produce clear, structured design artefacts before building

  • Explicitly document trade-offs:

    • Declarative vs Apex

    • Sync vs Async

    • Native vs Integrated

  • Build for scale, not just for delivery

4. Integrations & Data
  • Design robust, observable integrations

  • Define clear data contracts between systems

  • Own failure handling and recovery strategies

5. Engineering Standards
  • Contribute to DevOps, documentation, and delivery standards

  • Reduce technical debt

  • Act as a technical reviewer and mentor

Qualities we look for
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I (minimum)

  • Strong Apex, LWC, and data modelling capability

  • Proven experience designing scalable Salesforce solutions

  • Experience with APIs and integrations

What differentiates you (this is what we actually hire on)

1. AI-Native Mindset

  • You already use tools like ChatGPT or Claude Code in your daily workflow

  • You can clearly explain:

    • Where AI helps

    • Where it doesn’t

    • How it changes your approach to engineering

2. Communication

  • You can explain complex systems simply

  • You can walk through trade-offs clearly

  • You can defend your decisions

3. Engineering Thinking

  • You think in systems, not tickets

  • You consider scale, failure modes, and maintainability

  • You design before building

Nice to Have
  • Quote-to-Cash / subscription billing experience

  • DevOps tooling (e.g. Gearset, Copado)

  • Experience in high-growth or compliance-driven environments
