The Events BDR Manager is a pivotal player-manager role at Perk, responsible for both leading a team of 5 Inside Sales Development Representatives and being a hands-on force in driving events and MICE growth across our existing client base.

This is not a purely strategic or administrative leadership role. You will be in the trenches alongside your team - coaching live deals, joining key client conversations, and setting the standard for what great account development looks like in the events and MICE space. At the same time, you will own the team's collective commercial performance, culture, and development, ensuring every BDR is hitting their potential and contributing to Perk's Events revenue growth.

The right person for this role is as energised by developing people as they are by developing business. You lead by example, hold the bar high, and create an environment where your team is motivated, skilled, and consistently converting existing account relationships into active events partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & People Development

  • Lead, manage, and inspire a team of 5 Events & MICE BDRs, fostering a high-performance, high-support culture where people are held accountable and given every tool to succeed.

  • Conduct regular 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and performance conversations that go beyond numbers - focusing on skill development, deal coaching, and career progression.

  • Onboard new inside sales development representatives effectively, reducing time-to-productivity through structured training on Perk's Events proposition, sales methodology and account development approach.

  • Identify individual strengths and development areas across the team, building personalised coaching plans that elevate both confidence and commercial output.

  • Create a team environment built on transparency, healthy competition, shared learning, and mutual accountability.

Commercial Performance & Pipeline Ownership

  • You will own the team's collective MICE revenue target, with full accountability for pipeline health and quality

  • You’ll maintain a clear view of the team's aggregate pipeline at all times - reviewing CRM (Salesforce) data weekly, identifying risk and intervening early to protect deals and accelerate close for the MICE conversion team.

  • Set and track weekly and monthly activity targets for each BDR, balancing quantity of outreach with quality of conversations and pipeline outcomes.

  • Partner with the General Manager, Perk Events and commercial leadership to translate business targets into actionable team plans, with clear account coverage strategies.

  • Report on team performance, pipeline progression, and revenue forecast to senior leadership on a regular cadence.

Hands-On Account Development

  • Actively support BDRs on complex or high-value accounts - joining discovery calls, attending client meetings, and helping to position Perk Event’s full capability at senior stakeholder level.

  • Step in as a deal accelerator when opportunities stall, bringing senior presence and commercial gravitas to re-engage decision-makers and move the pipeline forward.

  • Maintain your own direct relationships with a select portfolio of strategic accounts, modelling best-in-class account development and demonstrating the behaviours you expect from your team.

  • Collaborate closely with Account Management and the MICE conversion team to ensure seamless client experience from first conversation through to event execution and repeat business.

Process, Tools & Continuous Improvement

  • Own the Inside sales team's use of CRM - ensuring data integrity, consistent pipeline hygiene and accurate forecasting across all team members.

  • Continuously refine outreach frameworks, discovery conversation guides, and proposal templates to improve team effectiveness and consistency.

  • Identify patterns in what's working and what isn't - bringing a data-informed mindset to team strategy, account prioritisation and campaign planning.

  • Work with marketing to ensure the team has the right collateral, case studies, and content to support account conversations and proposal development.

What We're Looking For:
Essential Experience & Skills

  • 4-6 years' experience in a sales or business development role within SaaS, travel technology or the broader travel and hospitality industry - with at least 2 of those years spent leading or player-managing a sales team

  • Proven track record of leading a team to hit and exceed collective revenue targets - not just personal quota attainment.

  • Hands-on coaching ability - you know how to sit with a BDR on a live deal, spot what's not working, and help them fix it in real time.

  • Strong grasp of B2B solution selling within a short sales cycle, with the ability to teach and embed this approach across a team.

  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and in video/presentation settings, with the ability to represent Perk credibly at senior client level.

  • Experience working with European and/or North American corporate markets and an understanding of how businesses in these regions plan and buy events.

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken, to a professional business standard.

  • Proficient in CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, Gong) with the ability to use data to drive team decisions and forecast confidently.

  • Must have the legal right to work in the applicable location

Desirable

  • Understanding of the MICE landscape: incentive travel, corporate conferencing, venue sourcing, event logistics, and the procurement behaviours of corporate buyers.

  • Prior experience within a corporate TMC, events agency, or managed events environment.

  • Experience building or scaling a BDR function from a small team upwards.

Behaviours & Values

The leader who will thrive in this role will consistently demonstrate:

  • Lead from the front: sets the standard through their own behaviour, not just direction.

  • Develops people genuinely: invests in the growth of their team as individuals, not just as revenue contributors.

  • Commercially sharp: maintains a clear-eyed view of pipeline, risk, and opportunity at all times.

  • Customer-centric: instils in the team a mindset of delivering value first, always putting the client relationship at the centre of how business is developed.

  • Accountable: owns the team's results without deflecting; creates a culture where accountability flows both ways.

  • Collaborative: builds strong internal relationships with Account Management, Events Delivery, and Marketing to ensure the team is well-supported and well-positioned.

  • Calm under pressure: able to manage competing priorities, underperformance, and commercial uncertainty without losing focus or composure.
