About the role :

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Business Analyst to support a key Service Transition initiative in Aberdeen. This role will be instrumental in analysing current IT services, gathering requirements, and supporting the design of future operating models.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead structured discovery exercises to map and analyse existing IT processes, services, and dependencies.
  • Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements from a range of stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and meetings to elicit requirements and drive consensus.
  • Analyse and validate SLAs, KPIs, and operational risks to ensure alignment with business needs.
  • Produce clear, actionable reports and documentation, including process maps, RACI matrices, and governance frameworks.
  • Support the design and implementation of unified service management plans and operating models.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of business processes, identifying opportunities for optimisation and innovation.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Design Authority (TDA) and technical leads to ensure solutions align with strategic IT roadmaps.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications for technical teams.
  • Support project delivery by tracking progress, managing risks, and ensuring deliverables meet stakeholder expectations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in IT service transition, transformation, or managed service environments.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and business process improvement.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and lead stakeholder interviews.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, service management frameworks, and governance best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
