Role Purpose

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join this newly created team, focused on providing bespoke commercial analysis to support project financing and transactions for clients in Europe’s power and renewables markets. In this role, you will play a key role in creating a suite of transaction/valuation support solutions, building on our existing subscription services, providing clients with bespoke commercial due diligence support.

Main Responsibilities

Initially you will be working with our research groups to enhance our models and data and build out a suite of transaction support offerings for European power and renewables clients. You will then play a key role in the execution of project assignments – through the creation of content and in project managing the contribution of others. You will also support the shaping and pitching engagements and supporting business development activity.

Please note this is a hybrid role and will be based out of one of our European offices such as Spain, Germany or UK.

About You

  • You have 4+ years of experience in Europe’s power and renewables markets, with a strong understanding of power plant technologies, operations, and economics.
  • You are well-versed in financial modelling and valuation techniques within power and renewables, and you have experience of project management on transactions and/or valuations within the sector – ideally in a consulting/advisory capacity.
  • You are an experienced user of power market simulation software (e.g. Plexos, Aurora by Energy Exemplar, BID 3 etc) – additional development competence for these models would be advantageous but not essential.
  • You can develop, maintain and confidently present complex valuations for various types of power assets, backed by bespoke market modelling.
  • You are collaborative and have an analytical mindset.
  • You will have strong written and verbal communication skills in English – with fluency in other European languages beneficial.

Expectations
At Wood Mackenzie we set high expectations for ourselves and our people when it comes to behaviour and capabilities as we believe it builds a culture where everyone can thrive and have real impact.

  • Act with integrity - behaving ethically, morally and in line with our values.
  • Collaborate across boundaries- forge impactful relationships beyond our immediate team.
  • Ownership & accountability- delivering on our commitments and owning the outcome.
  • Change agility- maintaining high performance through disruption and change.
  • Inspiring excellence- motivating others to deliver exceptional results.
  • Building talent - facilitating career and personal growth.

We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2-3 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future.
