As a Data Governance Lead in the Wholesale Credit Data Management and Governance team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and governing data assets within the wholesale credit risk organization. You will partner with cross-functional teams to implement and monitor data risks, ensuring data is fit for use and compliant with governance processes. Job Responsibilities:

  • Create and update credit data classification; ensure compliance with firm-wide governance processes.
  • Define and implement entitlements models for data access across data products.
  • Act as the Information Owner (IO) for all Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) applications.
  • Evaluate and approve data use, recommending appropriate consumption paths.
  • Monitor data quality (DQ) metrics and drive resolution of DQ items.
  • Determine and remediate data risk metrics in collaboration with Control Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with data localization, retention, and destruction requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document and assess systems of record and authoritative sources.
  • Develop and mentor junior team members.


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Significant experience in data governance;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey business and technical concepts.
  • Experience in defining and documenting new processes with appropriate controls frameworks.
  • Ability to interpret regulations, policies, and rules effectively.
  • Proven track record in managing and delivering complex projects in large organizations.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask under pressure.
  • Understanding of relational databases, SQL, and BI tools with hands-on experience.


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Understanding of credit risk processes is a plus.
  • Dedicated project management experience.
  • Experience in strategic data initiatives and machine learning applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Experience in financial services or a related industry.
