The system administrator will manage IT infrastructure, ensuring system reliability, security, and performance while providing technical support and implementing improvements.
We are looking for a detail-oriented system administrator to manage, maintain and optimize user IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure user systems reliability, security and performance while also providing technical support to internal teams.This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, proactive monitoring and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain user laptops and computer systems
- Manage Windows and/or Linux server environments (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Server)
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Configure and maintain network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Ensure system security, patch management, and compliance
- Manage identity and access controls (e.g., Active Directory)
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
- Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and procedures
- Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure projects and upgrades
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2–5+ years of experience in system administration
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing)
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery planning
- Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
- Experience with monitoring tools and automation
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices
- Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments
